The oldest oak trees within the Copse are estimated to be about 200 years old.
Glebe Copse Trust was established by Trust Deed in 1940 as a Bird Sanctuary and Nature Reserve and as such is registered with the Charity Commission.To help protect its character it also,
· is protected as W1 of the Highfield Tree Preservation Order 1954,
· forms part of the Uplands Estate Conservation Area and
· is listed as a Protected Open Space in the 2001 Southampton City Council Local Plan.
· is registered with both the Charity Commission and the Forestry Commission.
· We hope to be listed as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation
